"Good service" We stayed in the Hilton to visit the Dalí exposition which was held in the Boymans van Beuningen Museum. The room was okay, but nothing special really (bed was huge though). Service was good and we enjoyed dinner here as well. Would stay here again for a short weekend.

"Surprisingly good." Had a good deal (just under 100 euro) at otel.com on a room including breakfasts here, so despite some negative reviews booked double room. Staff could not have been more helpful, room and bathroom a good size considering city centre location 5-10 mins walk from centraal station. The decor is of personal taste I can understand some of the comments about it being outdated but we found it ok. Maybe the hotel management have listened to complaints as despite being very busy with a que for seating at breakfast, we were quickly shown to a table and coffee or tea instantly offered. Breakfast buffet was superb, and as it was included in rate tasted even better!

"Faultless" OK, firstly, I have to say I stayed here on business and as a Hilton HHonors gold card VIP I got upgraded to a suite but that said, I have stayed at Hiltons where this was too much trouble. From check-in to check-out this place couldn't have been more efficient or comfortable. The situation of the hotel is excellent, just on the corner of Weena and Coolsingel which are the main streets in Rotterdam and only 5 minutes walk to the station. There is even a Metro station next door at Stadthuis if you don't want to walk. The room itself was obviously spacious and comfortable with none of the 70's decor as mentioned in previous posts. Plenty of wardrobe space and a good sized, well-equipped bathroom with complimentary robe and slippers. The executive floor is located on the fourth floor and the noise of the traffic didn't intrude despite the rather thin curtains. I found the Club Lounge on the first floor and it was very welcoming. The complimentary canapes and drinks were enough to relax after a day's meetings but it was a bit of a shock to see one guest bring a hooker into the lounge one night to be wined and dined! The breakfast was also taken in the lounge and it was the usual sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cold meat and cheeses with cereals and fruit and was ample. In the bar area on the ground floor, seats at the bar were above bar height which was a bit different but the staff there were very efficient and friendly. Other decent bars in the area are to be found in and around Coolsingel. I found Cafe Plein a nice place but there are plenty of others nearby.
